Patrick J. Munro

March 22, 1952 — December 21, 2023

Patrick James Munro, known affectionately as Pat to his friends and family, took his final curtain call on December 21, 2023. Born on the first day of spring in 1952, in Milwaukee, WI, Pat was a self-taught man whose character was as colorful as the gardens he tended. He embarked on his grandest adventure, peacefully passing away in Oak Creek, WI, surrounded by the love of his life, Claudette, and the loving family they built together.

Family was the cornerstone of Pat's world. He leaves behind his wife, Claudette, sons Paul (Jessica) and Scott (Beth), and a pack of grandchildren: Kaylin, Mike, Bryn, Claire, Maeve, and Jack, who will miss their grandpa's legendary "when I was your age" tales. Pat was a family man, a mentor, and a granddad who could turn a pancake breakfast into a morning of mayhem and memories.

Pat was a self-taught student of life, and if there was one thing he knew better than the back of his hand, it was that the best classroom was the one with four wheels and a full tank of gas. For over forty years, Pat was the go-to guy on the south side of town, owning the service station where both cars and friendships were maintained with equal expertise.

Pat was the MacGyver of Milwaukee, turning a paperclip and a piece of gum into a functioning carburetor. Pat could size up a situation, a car problem, or a bad golf swing with a glance and come up with a solution before most people had figured out there was a problem. He was the guy who remembered your dog's birthday and would offer a sympathetic ear or a joke, depending on which would fix your day. His humor was the glue that held his world together. His wit was as sharp as his mind, and he knew that laughter was the shock absorber that eased the bumps along life's road. If you couldn't find Pat under a car hood, you'd likely spot him on the golf course, perfecting a swing that was as unique as his sense of humor. Or his elbows in soil as his garden was his canvas. And let's not forget those afternoons at the track, where his analytical mind tried to outsmart the horses.

To say Pat will be missed is an understatement. Pat's memory will live on in every chuckle shared, every engine turned over on a cold morning, and every grandchild who picks up a wrench or a golf club.

As we bid farewell to Pat, let's remember him as he would want: with a smile on our faces and a chuckle in our hearts. He was a rare combination of a man who could make you laugh until you cried, then turn around and fix whatever was broken—be it your car or your heart. After all, as Pat would say, "Life is like a car battery – it's charged with positive and negative, but it's what starts the journey." The journey continues, Pat, and thanks to you, we're all the better for it. Safe travels, dear friend.
