Dear mother of Mary (David) Carlson, Nancy (Robin) Spangler, Thomas (Mary Ann) Thompson, Susan Thompson, Christopher Thompson. Grandmother of James (Dottie) Thompson, Jennifer (Craig) Jansen, Daniel Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Morgan Spangler, Nathan (Melissa) Spangler, Lauren (Cory) Tutaj, Austin (Nicole Guenther) Spangler, Catherine (Paul Dettlaff) Carlson, Andrew (Jamie) Carlson. Great-grandmother of Ian, William, Owen, Kaelie, Nolan, Madison, Devin, Andrew, Silas and Courtney. Daughter of the late Thomas and the late Margaret (nee Bayer) Shanahan. Dear sister of Audrey Shanahan, Margaret (Lawrence) Prohaska, and Thomas Shanahan. Sister-in-law of Sharon Reupert, Carole (Albertus) South, Gervase (Janet) Thompson, Kenneth Thompson, Adrienne (Kenneth) Tomic, and Michael (Kathleen) Thompson. Further survived by other loving relatives and friends. Pat was born in Milwaukee and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1948. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator for the Wisconsin Telephone Company. During this time Pat wrote letters to a friend's brother who was serving in the Army during the Korean conflict. This young man, Donald Thompson, became her beloved husband of 58 years. Pat was a volunteer for many years for the Milwaukee Health Department. She was an active member of the Milwaukee Archdiocese Christian Women's Group and a longtime member of St. Helen Parish and more recently St. Martin of Tours. Pat delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 11 am at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (7963 S. 116th St., Franklin). Visitation Wednesday 4-8 pm at the Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel and thereafter Thursday 10-10:45 am at the church. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
