Balko, Otto E. "Sonny" Sonny entered into eternal peace on October 13, 2009 at the age of 87. Loving and devoted husband to Sylvia R. Balko (nee Kvalheim). Dearest brother to Edna Wright, Edmund "Bill" (Carmen) Balko and the late Donna DeRocher. Strong and everloving stepfather to Sylvia's children, Michael G. Van Hart (Deceased), Mark R. (Sharon) Van Hart, Sharon V (Carl) Thorsen and Vicki L. Van Hart (Billy Powell). Proud grandfather to Alexandra Van Hart, Mark R. Van Hart (Carmen), Anthony Van Hart (Rochelle), Jessica Thorsen, Kelly Thorsen, Eric Thorsen, Nolan R. Lewis, Calvin L. Lewis and Rachael M. Lewis. Greatest great-grandfather to Olivia Van Hart. Further survived by many other cherished relatives and friends. A veteran who proudly served his country in the US Navy (WWII) and US Army (Korea). Otto also worked for many years as a Switchman for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Sonny was a kind, friendly, dependable, honorable man with strong old fashioned values and is loved by everyone who's had the good fortune to know him. Visitation at the MAX A. SASS & SONS Greenridge Chapel on Monday October 19, 2009 from 5-7 PM with the funeral service at 7 PM. Private Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
