Cherney, Orville A. "Orv" Passed into Eternal Life on August 4, 2009, age 78 years. Orville was born in Eaton, WI on February 28, 1931 to Frank and Vera (Nee Pieschek) Cherney. He is survived by a brother, John (Barbara) and a sister Gladys (Martin) Metzler, as well as, nieces, nephews and aunts. Visitation Friday August 7, 2009 9:30-10:45 AM at ST. ALPHONSUS CATHOLIC CHURCH (6060 W. Loomis Rd.) with Funeral Mass at 11 AM. A second visitation will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum (2121 Riverside Dr., Greenbay) Saturday August 8, 2009 from 1-2PM with committal prayers at 2 PM. Private entombment. Orv served with the artillery of the U.S. Army in Korea, and then graduated from St. Norbert's College in Depere. Orv began his accounting career at the Charmin Paper Products Division of Procter and Gamble. Later he worked at a national public accounting firm and spent 37 years as an internal revenue agent of the IRS in the Milwaukee District. After retirement, he became an enrolled agent to represent taxpayers before the IRS. During college he worked as a professional musician as well as for the National Biscuit Co. (Nabisco) and Fort Howard Paper Co. He provided community services by serving as president of the national association of IRS employees for the state of WI. He served as the education vice-president and president of various Toastmaster clubs in the Milwaukee area, as well as, treasurer of the State of WI Toastmasters Club. He served as treasurer and president of the Catholic Alumni Club of Milwaukee. He was also a former member of the Vagabond Club. Orv was a member of the Alonzo Cudworth American Legion Post for 24 years and later the Greendale American Legion Post. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Foundation, American Cancer Society, Sinus Society or the Lighthouse are appreciated.
