Olivia H. Venne (Nee Bach).
Olivia, a beacon of compassion and grace, peacefully passed away on June 2, 2024, at the age of 96 in Milwaukee, WI. Born on December 12, 1927, in Medford, WI, Olivia dedicated her life to nurturing both her family and those in her professional care.
Olivia's journey as a healer and caregiver began with her graduation from St. Joseph's of Marshfield in 1948, where she earned her degree in Registered Nursing. Her passion for learning and helping others flourish led her to achieve a Bachelor's of Nursing in 1999, exemplifying a lifelong commitment to education and professional excellence. For more than half a century, Olivia served at Mitchel Manor Nursing Home, with the last 10 years as a pastoral care nurse. Her gentle presence and wise counsel touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she cared for.
In 1950, Olivia married the love of her life, Robert, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love and shared purpose until his passing. Their legacy continued through their children, Dan, Bob, and Bill, who each carry a piece of Olivia's spirit within them. She was a guiding light to her grandchildren, Jenell, Chad, and Julie, and a source of wonder and enchantment to her great-grandchildren, Halley, Audrina, Cashton, Everly, and Gracelyn. Olivia was survived by her brother Paul and predeceased by her daughter Kathleen, her sons Thomas and Edward, her siblings Bernard, Jerome and Betty and her dear husband, Robert.
Olivia's life was a tapestry woven with threads of deep faith and an appreciation for the natural world. A devout Catholic, her relationship with God was the cornerstone of her existence, informing her actions and nurturing her soul. She found sanctuary in birdwatching, the tranquility of nature, and the simple joys of camping and bike riding. Her hands, always eager to create, expressed her love through knitting, gardening, and sewing, crafting a world of beauty and warmth for those around her.
Those who knew Olivia will fondly remember her as a faith-filled spirit, the epitome of kindness and a person of unwavering passion. Her ability to see the good in others, to instill hope, and to offer solace made her a cherished companion and confidante. Her unwavering commitment to her family, her patients, and her community was a testament to a life well-lived, defined by selfless service and boundless love.
As we bid farewell to Olivia, we celebrate a life that was rich in experiences and abundant in love. With her passing, we mourn the loss of a matriarch, a mentor, and a dear friend. Yet, her spirit remains a guiding light, her teachings a blueprint for kindness, and her memories a treasure cherished by all who were fortunate to cross her path.
Olivia's journey on earth may have concluded, but the impact of her life will continue to ripple through generations. Her story is one of triumph, resilience, and the extraordinary power of an ordinary life steeped in love. We celebrate Olivia not just for the life she led but also for the lives she touched, the comfort Olivia not just for the life she led but also for the lives she touched, the comfort she provided, and the beauty she saw in the world.
In honor of Olivia's remarkable life, we hold her memory close to our hearts as we continue to walk the path of compassion and kindness she so gracefully paved.
