Norris D. House

July 18, 1946 — November 20, 2019

Norris D. House Norris D. House, age 73, was welcomed to the Spirit World on November 20, 2019. He shared his final moments at home with loved ones by his side. Born on July 18, 1946 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is the son of the late Charles M. House and Alma Steffes (Nee Nunway). Proud to be Indian, he was Oneida, Stockbridge, and an enrolled member of the Menominee Nation. Loving Devoted Father of Carol (Wayne) Madosh, Bradley (Lori) Madosh, Gina (Scott) Metz, Joshua Miller, Norris G. (Leslie) House, Renee (Peter) Miller, James Madosh, Lawrence Brown, and the late Anthony Madosh and Rhoda Gnasso. Dear and Caring Partner to Gail Brown. Proud Grandfather and Great-Grandfather of many. Loved Relative and Friend to many others. ALL of these relationships were his riches. Norris treasured sharing time, laughs, conversation, meals with family and friends. He liked to sit outside in the sun with his dogs Spud and Mushy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, pow wows, good music, a clean car, eating popcorn at bingo and sports. For several years, he coached a Native softball team known as Red Nations which won the City's Social League Championship in 2001. He worked many years as an AODA counselor with the American Indian Council on Alcoholism which originated in the 1970's under the late Herb Powless. He believed strongly in sobriety and hoped he helped his people. Norris prayed every morning saying there was great power in prayer and in good things we do for each other. His Favorite Holiday-Thanksgiving (and opening day for deer hunting). He had diabetes and was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2007. Complications from these illnesses took his body and his struggle to stay here with us ended. Our time with him is cherished—Our Love for him is forever. Norris's request to hold no services were honored. Cremation services completed by Max A. Sass & Sons. Cremated remains will be dispersed at a later date.
