Malik, Mohammad Iqbal MD Passed away peacefully at his home in Brookfield, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. He was born and raised in Pakistan. After graduating from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, he immigrated to the United States in 1963. He was very proud of becoming a United States citizen. He completed residency in pathology at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He worked as a staff surgical pathologist and hematopathologist at St. Luke's until retirement in 2006, and served as Medical Director of Laboratories from 1988 to 1990. In 1968, he married Mary Jean ("Jeanne") Philbrick of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife Jeanne and their three children and six grandchildren: Amy Naseem Malik (married to Pierre Kory with daughters Ella, Eve, and Violet), Michael Javed Malik (married to Marta Slizewska with sons Joshua and David), and Jeffrey Tariq Malik (married to Kylee Carolfi Malik with son Austin). Mohammad is also survived by his brother, Shoukat Malik of New Jersey, and his four sisters who live in Pakistan. He is preceded in death by his brother, Javed Malik. Services were held at the Islamic Center of Milwaukee on Thursday, May 12, 2011, and he was laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park. The family extends a special thank you to Steven Port, MD, cardiologist and friend to Mohammad; to the Visiting Nurse Association's Metro Hospice Program; to Chris Finn, RN, Mohammad's hospice nurse; and to Lucyna Milanowska, caregiver.
