Michael W. Krause

Michael W. Krause, AIA, of Milwaukee, WI passed away on February 24, 2020 at 10:15 PM, of complications related to colorectal cancer. Michael lived in Milwaukee for the entirety of his life. He was a dedicated contributor to his community and to the city that he loved. He obtained a Bachelor degree from the UW-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning, after which he went on to be a dedicated, hard-working, and well-respected Architect and Architectural Project Manager for the City of Milwaukee for 39 years. In his free time, Michael enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan, and he shared his love of sailing as a Sea Scout leader and member of the South Shore Yacht Club. He was a member of the St. Veronica Parish Usher’s Society for many years. He had excellent taste in music, and he loved listening to music with his family on the weekends. He also enjoyed camping with his family and playing with his Bernese Mountain Dog, Geneva. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Young), and his two daughters, Elise and Meghan. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret (Mae) Krause, his brother, Steve Krause, and many relatives and friends. A visitation will be held Saturday March 7, 2020 from 9-11:30 AM at the Max A. Sass Funeral Home in Franklin, WI, with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, Michael’s family requests that guests donate to TEAVY NAUTICAL, a Milwaukee-based non-profit dedicated to promoting youth sailing, and Franklin High School Relay for Life, to promote cancer research and patient care programs. Michael’s family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Luke's Lombardi Cancer Center and Froedtert Cancer Center. His medical teams worked tirelessly to support him through his 10-year battle with cancer, and their efforts were greatly appreciated.
