It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melanie Ann San Fillippo (69) of Greendale, WI. Melanie was embraced by the hands of God Saturday January 29th, 2022; surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. Born to Salvadore & Patricia San Fillippo August 10th, 1952, she was preceded in death by her husband Frederick James Petrie. She is survived by her sister Elenore Wood (San Fillippo), her two sons Jon (Kelsey) Petrie & Michael (Sara) Petrie along with her 7 wonderful grandchildren, Hailey, Samuel, Logan, Leland, Lucas, Olive, and Kingston. Melanie lived her life to serve and help others. She worked her early career as a physical therapist at St. Francis Hospital later becoming a director. Thereafter, she started her own practice Thera Dynamics which is still a thriving business today. Her life was filled with endless adventures from skiing in the Rocky’s to riding Harleys with her husband. All she ever wanted to do is leave the world a better place. She showed this through her endless generosity and selfless acts of kindness. Anybody that new Melanie would agree that there was not a bad bone in her body. She walked through life with a calm gentle presence and lived her life with honesty and integrity. I believe the best way for someone to understand how beautiful a person she was is through her poetry. She had a way with words that would heal anyone’s soul. Our world would be a better place if there were more people like Melanie walking through it. In the words of Melanie, “As we go through the different stages of life, we learn that a life well lived is not measured in years but in the acts of kindness offered to others.” A service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 18th at St. James 1868 located at 833 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.
