Matthew Adam Chmielewski, loved by many, tragically left this world on August 25, 2021, at age 51. He was surrounded by loving family during his final days. Born on February 24, 1970, Matt grew up in the Milwaukee and Mukwonago areas and already at a young age enjoyed sports. By age 10, when he wasn’t playing sports, he was making lists or line-ups of his favorite baseball, football or basketball players. An avid card collector, he followed sports players closely and knew many statistics. As he entered his teen years he also became a lover of music. From rock, heavy metal, hair band, to funk, punk, and 80s pop and more, it would be easier to mention a genre he didn’t love. He became a human encyclopedia on both topics and he shared that knowledge with many throughout his life with his on-line music club and fantasy sports leagues. As an adult Matt also enjoyed coaching grade school basketball for many years while starting a successful career in banking. The happiness these interests brought him was infectious. That joy and passion was only surpassed by his love for family, especially his son Bennett, and step-children Chloe Miller and Nate Miller. Spending time and creating memories with them became his ultimate source of joy. Whether it was jamming out to an 80s mix-tape, or hitting a small pizzeria on a road trip, it was smiles and selfies all the way. That smile will forever be missed as he is survived by his father Red and his wife Carol, sister Patty Perkins (Tim), brother Jeff (Terri), nephew Bryan (Megan), niece Janet (Scott Ehardt). Also survived by special friend Jen Doty and many other family and friends. He will now be reunited with Jan, his loving mother in heaven. May we all try to go through life with the same fun-loving joyful smile that Matt brought to all he met.
