Mary Lou Plicka (nee Burtch)
Passed peacefully on July 11, 2023 at the age of 90.
Beloved wife of the late Anthony (Tony) Plicka for 47 years, Mary Lou is survived by her children Kim (Jim) Baake, Mark (Jackie) Zephirin, Tracy (Mike) Wholean and her step-children Susan (the late Richard) Winter, Mike (Greta) Plicka, Bob (Linda) Plicka and Jack (Trudy) Plicka. She is also loved and survived by their combined grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.
Mary Louise was born to Jasper (Jack) and Eda Burtch on January 20, 1933, in Mauston, WI where they lived in Wisconsin Dells. The family later moved to the West Allis area. Mary Lou survived her three brothers Bud (Marge), Tony (Barb), and Jack (Mary). Mary Lou was married to Duane Zephirin when they had Kim and Mark while Tracy came along a bit (ok, quite a bit) later after she married Tony.
Two things Mary Lou will always be known for are Real Estate and Golfing. She spent the majority of her approximately 40-year career with Dwyer-Klose Realtors in West Allis. When she wasn't showing a home, hosting an open house or at closing, she could be found on a golf course. (Or taking people out to dinner) She met countless people through her work and on the course, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Mary Lou always strived to be generous and helpful to family and friends. She was a thoughtful person with a kind heart when it came to the people around her and will be greatly missed.
