Mary L. Sawicki

Mary L. Sawicki, 73, died on Monday, April 18, 2022. She was born on June 4, 1948, in Milwaukee to the late Frank and Myrtle (Hoff) Franz. Mary graduated from Bay View High School and later moved to Texas for 25 years. She returned to Wisconsin and married the love of her life Charles “Zeno” Sawicki on May 7, 1993. Mary was a Registered Nurse for many years before her retirement. She was a dedicated caregiver willing to selflessly give of herself. Mary was a guardian to many wards at the Legal Aid Society. Mary loved volunteering for Sunrise Nursing Home, she touched the lives of so many in her lifetime. Mary had the gift of connecting with others, even people she just met. To have known Mary was to have laughed with her, whether a close friend, family member or a stranger. Mary’s sense of humor was apparent, and she was as compassionate as she was funny. She was a lover of music who enjoyed playing her guitar and singing along with her collection of CDs. Mary had a passion for reading and swimming. She took joy in shopping and spending time with her cats. Mary is survived by her loving husband Zeno of 29 years, sister Connie (Jeff) Marschke, nephews James (Krista) and Eric, nieces Laura, Diane (Brian), Kris (David) as well as her niece and best friend Pam. She is further survived by her in-laws Paul and Barbara Behrndt, best friend Nela and friend Linda. Mary was preceded in death by her sister Shirley (Richard) Kingsbury and friends Pam and Myrtle. In accordance with her wishes no service will be held.
