Mary Ann Mlenar

On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Mary Ann Mlenar (nee Kosek) loving wife, mother, grandma and friend passed away surrounded by family after a brief illness.Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents Willard and Mercedes (nee Lunderborg) Kosek, daughter Jennifer Lee. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 50 years, Steven, her children Chad (DeAnna), Sean (Jane), and Sara (Gene) Durni, her cherished grandchildren, William, Josh, Roarke, Ezra, and Evan, her brother Leon (Ruth) Kosek, along with her dear cousins, in laws, and countless amazing friends. Mary was born October 29, 1949 in Lafayette, MN. She grew up in Milwaukee, WI where she met and married Steve. She was a long time employee of the West Allis Public Library where she loved her time serving and chatting with patrons and made lasting friendships with coworkers. Mary had an incredible spirit and her smile could brighten any room. She loved time with her family - playing board and card games and reading with her grandkids, spending time talking with her friends near and far, browsing bric a brac and nick knack shops and hunting for flower frogs, watching Westerns, sappy Christmas movies and Lawrence Welk on TV, and the many adventures on the road with Steve. In the last few years she had taken up pencil drawing. A private service will be held now and a celebration of Mary’s incredible life will be held when we can be outside in the spring or summer.
