Mary Ann G. Levenhagen

Levenhagen, Mary Ann (Nee Kleist) age 91 years October 14, 2012. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert L."Bob", parents Louis and Marie Kleist and brother Henry "Bud" (June) Kleist. Cherished mom of 2 daughters Suzanne "Sue" and Linda. They have been her best friends helping her with all problems and obligations since the death of their dad. Dearest sister of Gloria (Don) Lombardo Fieldstad. Dearest Aunt of Jim and Bobby Lombardo, Sandy Ryther, Judy Cavagnetto, Jeff Kleist, Debbie O'Donoghue, and Gail and David Fieldstad and their families. Also survived by dear relatives and many friends, especially those at Layton Terrace. Mary Ann enjoyed doing things for others. She and her husband shared bowling, golf and traveling. She retired from Universal Foods (Sensient Technologies) in 1983. She served in the US Navy from '43 to '45. While in the WAVES she married Bob in 1945 after his release from a German POW camp. He had been captured in the Battle of the Bulge. Visitation Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL from 5pm to 8pm with Funeral Services at 7pm. Private interment with military honors at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
