Marlyss A. Berefsky

October 25, 1932 — August 25, 2023


Marlyss Berefsky was the beloved mother Linda and husband William Coon, Lois and husband John Trongard, Frank (the late Maxine Berefsky) and fiancée Alejandra Uribe, Brian Berefsky, and Michael Berefsky. She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren Dawn and her husband Travis Jarve, Tammy and her husband Mike Atwater, Bobby Coon, Jennifer Penza, John and his wife Larissa Trongard, Becky Trongard, Frank Berefsky, Jackie and her husband Chase Beaudry, Brian and his wife Elissa Berefsky. She was a wonderful great-grandma to Merrick Jarve, Kael Jarve, Landon, Elena, Jonah, Myles and Nolan. Her family was her pride and joy, and she often spoke of the happiness they brought her. Her loving and nurturing nature was felt by all who knew her, making her a beacon of kindness in their lives.

Demonstrating an unyielding determination, Marlyss obtained her GED at MATC, proving that it is never to late to pursue one's education. She carried this tenacity into her life, dedicating several years of service to Master Lock before her retirement. Her colleagues remembered her as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand, reflecting her generous spirit. Marlyss had a zest for life that was infectious. She enjoyed simple pleasures such as bowling, fishing, crafts and going to Vegas and winning on the slots! These hobbies brought her immense joy, and she often shared this happiness with those around her. Her crafted creations were not only beautiful but also embodied her love and passion, making them cherished keepsakes for her loved ones.

Marlyss Berefsky's legacy is one of love, passion, and generosity. She was a woman who lived life to the fullest, touching the lives of many with her kindness and warmth. She will be deeply missed but her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched and the memories she created. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that her love will always be with them guiding them like a shining star in the sky.

May her soul rest in peace, and her memory continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her. Marlyss Berefsky, a woman of strength, love, and joy, will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.

Visitation will take place on Monday September 11, 2023 at Max A Sass - Greenridge (4747 S. 60th St. Greenfield, WI 53220), from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 1:30 PM.
