Marion Makowsky (nee Hart) passed away peacefully on 03/21/2021 at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac, WI. Marion was born on March 24, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI to John and Helen Hart. On August 4, 1956, she married Kenneth Makowsky in Milwaukee, where they raised their two children. While raising her family, Marion enjoyed being a girl scout leader for her daughter’s troop and camping at Rubidel campground in Watertown, WI. Marion was an extremely hard worker. She worked several jobs throughout her lifetime, starting at her parents’ tavern at a young age and eventually retiring from Target, where she was employed for over 26 years. In 1986, Marion and Ken purchased “the cottage”, their weekend getaway on Lake Winnebago, where many happy memories were made boating, fishing, and sitting by the fire with family and friends. After retirement, the cottage was torn down and their “forever” home was built, where they have resided since 2000. After re-locating to Fond du Lac, Marion kept busy by volunteering in the kitchen at her church, and working part time at Kohl’s. She had a unique personality, and no one kept a cleaner house! Marion was devoted to the family left behind to cherish her memory: her husband of 64 years, Kenneth, her daughter Debbie (Brian) Kuzminski, son Marty (Sheila) Makowsky, grandsons Kelly (Jackie) Kuzminski, Keith (Erin) Kuzminski, Kurt Kuzminski, Tommy (Abby) Makowsky and Danny Makowsky. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren: Peyton, Pierce, Kyla, Kaylin, Kase, Maddox, Marshall and Riley. Her sister Jean (Paul) Vassil also survives as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Hart and sister-in-law Vi Hart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Due to Covid 19, services will be held for immediate family members only.
