Marilyne A. Mackowiak

Marilyne A. Mackowiak Long time resident and resort owner, Marilyne Mackowiak of Chetek, WI passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021 at Oak Park Place of Burlington Wisconsin at the age of 84. Marilyne was born in Platteville, WI to Lucille and Henry Moeller. She obtained a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University. She met Jim Mackowiak in Chicago and married in 1964. They moved to Chetek, WI in 1974 where they owned and operated Rainbows End Resort for many years. Some may also know her as one of the Chetek school lunch ladies. Marilyne was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her Tuesday ladies breakfast group. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and sister Janice Schuster. Marilyne will be remembered by her sisters Karen Huffine, Pat Draper and Alicia Sajdak and children Michael Mackowiak, Liam Mackowiak and Lynette Oman. A celebration of Marilyne’s life will be held in Chetek this summer at a date to be determined.
