Marie R. Francher

September 3, 1947 — August 4, 2024

Marie Rosaria Francher, age 76, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024. Born on September 3, 1947, to the late Joseph and Mary (Bordonaro) Bancheri. Her brother Peter predeceased her, leaving behind a legacy of familial love and cherished memories.

Marie was the beloved wife of Carmon Francher, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, joy, and adventure. Marie and Carmon were married on a beautiful summer day, July 14, 1973, in New York. She was the loving mother of Kathryn and Tony (Marta), and the cherished grandmother of Milena and Talia. Marie also held a special place in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Her educational journey began in New York, where she completed high school before furthering her education at Auburn Community College and Syracuse University. After moving to Wisconsin, Marie continued her lifelong pursuit of learning at MATC, where she studied ASL and Spanish, showcasing her passion for language and culture.

Marie's life was characterized by a series of new beginnings, one of which was her role as a military spouse. This role brought her to Wisconsin, supporting her husband's education at MSOE. She had a particular fondness for needlepoint and crafts, creating beautiful works of art that were as intricate as they were expressive. Her enthusiasm for the newest technology revealed her forward-thinking nature and eagerness to embrace the future. A true history buff, Marie found joy in connecting with the past, understanding its context, and sharing her insights with others. Traveling was another of Marie's passions, and she approached it with the same tenacity and zest that she applied to all areas of her life. Marie was a lifelong learner, always reading and expanding her knowledge, which she generously shared during spirited game nights and discussions.
