Maria Bronislawa Bobula

September 8, 1932 - April 10, 2024

It is with the most profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Bobula. After a brief battle with cancer, Maria passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024. Her family was by her side till the very end.

Maria was the cherished daughter of Elżbieta Kuznecka (née Przybyłowska) and Michał Kuznecki. Sister of Władysław Kuznecki. Wife of Piotr Bobula. Loving mother to Elizabeth and Stanley Bobula. Beloved grandmother to Dante Dauksz, Charlie & Nicole Ryan (née Bobula), Jason & Avonne Sieracki (née Vallejo), Bradley Bobula and Stan Shell. Great-grandmother to Damien Bobula, Valencia Vallejo, Derek Grib. Great-Great-Grandmother to Mia, Kaleb, Lucyana, Kehlani. Cherished relative and dear friend to countless others.

Maria was born in a small village in Jasło, Poland, where she spent the first 33 years of her life. Her early life was one of constant struggle and hardship. Born and raised in an impoverished country, ravaged by war and deprivation, Maria left Poland with her husband and children in 1966 for the United States, determined to build a life for herself and her family better than the one she left behind. She succeeded. From the moment of her arrival in the United States, Maria worked tirelessly, both inside and outside the home, to provide for her family. She got her start cleaning offices and private homes. She then worked for 35 years in various positions at FMC-Stearns Corporation, until her retirement in 1997. During those early years, there were many periods when Maria held two separate jobs at the same time, and would work 12-14 hours a day for weeks on end, all while simultaneously maintaining her home, raising her children, and caring for her family. She lived her life for others, not for herself.

In everything she did, Maria was always motivated by the deepest love for her family. Everyone in her family relied on her love and support. She was what held everything and everyone together. Without her, the lives of her family members would not be what they are. Everything they have, they ultimately owe to her.

Those who knew Maria often praised her for her many good qualities. She was an extraordinary cook, and loved sharing her food with friends and acquaintances. Her home was always spotlessly clean and well-maintained. She loved working outdoors in her garden and backyard. A lover of flowers, Maria's home was often a sight to behold: during the summers, even strangers would frequently stop outside her home to admire her beautiful flowers and to ask her what her secret was. Although she was a strong woman who was never afraid to get her hands dirty, she always maintained a feminine grace and had a very soft, gentle touch. Those who knew her often described her as an elegant and graceful woman, a true Polish Lady.

Deeply proud of her Polish heritage, Maria always maintained a close connection to her fatherland and imparted her love for Poland to her children and grandchildren. She loved reading books, watching programs and talking with others about Polish history and politics, and she continued to take an active interest in her homeland till the end of her life. Maria often did volunteer work for Polonia Sports Club, she always helped friends and family back in Poland, and frequently participated in gatherings and events organized by the Polish community in Milwaukee.

A devout Catholic, Maria always strived to live her life in accordance with the teachings of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She exemplified the Christian virtues of humility, self-sacrifice, and love of others. She had a pure heart. Maria was an active parishioner at her church at SS Cyril & Methodius, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. Maria was always happy volunteering her time for the church.

Maria's passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her. But her memory will always be honored. And her life will always be celebrated and cited as an example for others to follow. She will be deeply missed.
