Margilea "Marge" V. Abel

Abel, Margilea (Marge) Born July 19, 1940 in Britt, IA to Maurice and Vera (Thornbury) Swan. Born to Eternal Life September 29, 2018 at the age of 78. She was active in band and chorus in high school in Britt and attended college in Cedar Falls, IA (now University of Northern Iowa). Marge taught 3rd grade in Pocahontas, IA for 3 years then returned to UNI to complete her degree in elementary education. From 1964-1971 she was employed by the Orange Unified School District in Orange, CA. She was a classroom teacher and later a reading specialist. In 1971 Marge married Ronald Abel and they settled in Greendale, WI. She was employed for 25 years by St. Mary Parish School in Hales Corners. Marge also worked part time at the Boston Store. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Thomas. She is survived by her husband Ronald and her daughters, who she is very proud of, Jennifer Webb (Daniel) and Susan Ellingsen (Donald), two grandchildren Reece Ellingsen and Erica Webb, her brother Phillip, and sister in law Sandra. She is also survived by in laws Roger and Alice Abel and Ken and Kathy Thompson, as well as by nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of Hales Corners Lutheran Church and active in altar guild. Her interests were her family, reading, bowling and playing cards. A visitation will be held at HALES CORNERS LUTHERAN CHURCH (12300 W. Janesville Rd. Hales Corners, WI) on Sunday October 7, 2018 from 2 - 3:45 PM with the Funeral Service to begin at 4 PM. Private Entombment Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated.
