Margaret L. Spiess

August 17, 1930 — May 7, 2018

In loving memory of Margaret L. Spiess (Peg) who passed away peacefully Monday May 7, 2018. Peg was first and foremost, happy wife of David J. Spiess who passed away earlier this year. They cherished each other in life and no doubt will in eternity as well. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother always putting family first. Married to Dave for 67 years, together they had 5 children; Jim (Jean), Jean (Bill Schuster), Ron (Aurora), Mary (Dan Polaris), Rick (Linda), 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She led the family with grace, patience, support, hope and laughter. Always a sincere listener who knew just when to advise and when to console instead. Motivated by peace, tranquility and faith she created the most loving home one could ever imagine. A trendsetter, she supported Dave working from home in the family machining and manufacturing business before it was defined as telecommuting and recognized as real work. She loved to travel and readily adopted Dave's love of boating, acting as his first mate on many adventuresome cruises, interpreting captain's orders for her 5 little crew members and continuing to help Dave chart the course for many years after the kids moved on to their own vessels. Preceded in death by her dear daughter-in-law Lynn, survived by many friends who also cherished her joyful, fun-loving spirit. Visitation Thursday May 17, 2018, 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial 6:00pm, St. Gregory the Great Parish, 3160 S. 63rd St., Milwaukee.
