Mackenzie Rae Clyde

September 16, 2010 — April 9, 2021

Mackenzie Rae Clyde September 16, 2010 - April 9, 2021 Dear Kenz, We are so proud of you; those are such simple words but our feelings behind them go beyond the depth of the oceans. Your life was short, yet had incredible meaning and impact on all who knew you. You embodied LOVE. You were kind, thoughtful; your smile taught us how to endure in pain and suffering and still keep faith for better days to come. Every day you woke up and asked what fun we were having that day; we love that you lived life looking for the next adventure. You had so much fun traveling to different places, especially if that city had an American Girl store. We will miss our nightly "peaches and pit" conversations; despite everything you went through, you would struggle to find a "pit" in your day and that will forever humble us to focus on the good in life. You fought the ugly disease that is brain cancer for 1,051 days; you now can spend eternity enjoying the rest you have earned with your courageous fight. Until we are reunited with you, we promise to honor your battle by devoting ourselves to childhood cancer research, so one day no child will need to suffer; our first act in doing this, and your final act of love, was donating your tumor tissue for brain tumor research. We know you would be happy in helping other kids in their cancer fight; you always focused on helping others and bringing them joy. We hope Disney in Heaven is everything you imagined and more. Love you to the moon and back and infinity and beyond, Mama and Dad Mackenzie is survived by her loving and heartbroken parents Patrick and Courtney, her grandpa Michael Katerinos, nana Karen Walker, great-nana Phyllis Walker, aunt Kristi Clyde, uncles Kevin (Kristin) Katerinos and Craig Katerinos and her cousins, and many family and friends. When she entered Heaven, she was greeted by Jesus, her grandma Joni Mitchell, her great-grandparents, and other childhood cancer angels. Our family would like to say a special thank you to Mackenzie's wonderful MACC Fund care team, her care providers at CHW, and her home hospice nurses at Seasons Hospice. We would also like to send appreciation to My Friend Linkin, Kisses for Keegan, Gamerosity, Women for MACC, DeForest Police Department, West Allis Fire Department and so many other wonderful organizations that gave our family extra support. In lieu of flowers, we will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the MACC Fund toy closet during her celebration of life. Her visitation will be open to all who loved and were inspired by her journey. Please feel free to come at your convenience between 2pm and 5pm on Friday, April 30th at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel. Mackenzie loved her onesies and all things comfortable; please feel free to join her request for "comfy" and wear your favorite childhood cancer t-shirt or anything blue/teal (her favorite colors). "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 In order to keep our guests and employees safe we ask that you please respect the following protocols when attending a visitation or service at the funeral home. If you are feeling ill please do not attend Please respect social distancing recommendations Wash or sanitize your hands Please refrain from physical contact Follow the traffic pattern the funeral home has laid out Once you have paid your respects please exit the building to allow another person an opportunity
