M. Donalyn "Doni" Walsh

M. Donalyn Walsh Greendale - ""Doni" (nee Tratnik) Passed away peacefully in her home March 20, 2021. Proud mother of Douglas (Jaclynn) and David Walsh. Loving grandmother of Samuel, Sarah and Tatum. Preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary Tratnik. Donalyn was born in Milwaukee where her family enjoyed many social and cultural gatherings rooted in their Slovenian heritage. She attended Bay View High School before earning her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Master's Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In the early 1970's, she moved with her family to Greendale where she lived the remainder of her life. Donalyn was a dedicated elementary school teacher with the Milwaukee Public School System for 30 years. She took a personal interest in her students, preparing them with necessary life skills in addition to the required class curriculum. Donalyn's greatest pleasure was being a mom and grandmother. She loved to attend or follow her children and grandchildren's little league and basketball games, piano recitals, dance competitions and golf tournaments. Donalyn also enjoyed cooking, antique shopping, playing tennis and loved music and dancing. She was a big fan of the Brewers, Packers, Bucks and Badgers, holding season tickets to UW football games for many years. Her sons wish to thank the many caregivers at Home Instead and Assisting Hands, as well as the staff at Grace Hospice for their kindness and compassion. A private service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
