Bigaj, Luane S. (Nee Sweet) Born to eternal life on May 21, 2016 at the age of 76 surrounded by her loving family. No matter what challenges she faced, her strength, courage and positive attitude prevailed. Beloved wife of Dr. James Bigaj for 54 years. Dear daughter of the late Florian and Dorothy Sweet. Loving mom of Steve (Jessica) Bigaj, Suellen (Geno) Johnson and Kathy (Bill) Reilley. Proud grandma of Robin, Ben, Allison, Madeline, Alyssa, Sonja, Jack, Kelly, Lauren and Kevin. Special great grandma of Jacob. Dear sister of Judy (the late John) Gardetto, the late Janice Sweet, and Mary (Greg) Brauch. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Luane was first and foremost a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, singing, playing tennis and cards, attending MU basketball games, and various events with her grandchildren. She had an infectious laugh, loved to have fun, and always found a way to brighten your day. Luane enjoyed several years as a medical assistant, teaching assistant, bookkeeper, and girl scout leader. Her spirit will live on in the lives of all those she touched. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Church, 6060 W. Loomis Road, Greendale, on Wednesday June 1, 2016 from 9:30 - 10:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery following the service. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Luane's name suggested to St. Alphonsus Church. Special thanks to the Zilber Hospice staff for their incredible care of Luane.
