Louise S. Kohn

Louise S. Kohn (nee Kotowski, DiChristopher), beloved wife of 24 years of the late Dennis F. Kohn, and loving wife and grandmother, lost her battle with Covid November 30, 2020. Louise was born in Milwaukee on July 31, 1944 to Joseph and Florence Kotowski (nee Osuchowski) and spent much of her life in the Town of Lake, attending Burdick School and then Bay View High School (Class of 1962.) Louise loved music and could play both the piano and banjo (!) and was a member of the Milwaukee Lake Band (flute and piccolo) where she was a State Award recipient. After attending UWM she worked at the ticket counter for North Central Airlines, where she met and married her first husband, the late Ralph DiChrisopher, with whom she had her only child, Jane. A devoted Girl Scout leader and PTA President, Louise later worked for Franklin Press before joining the US Postal Service, where she would rise to the rank of supervisor before her retirement. While working at USPS she met her second husband, Dennis, with whom she would enjoy life until his passing in 2014. Louise is best remembered for her sharp wit, her love of shopping, her opulent and extravagant style, her great love for her daughter, and a sense of humor that continued even in the most difficult of times. Louise is survived by her daughter Jane M. DiChristopher, step-daughter Melissa "Lisa" (Daniel) Slapczynski, step-son Robert (Beret) Kohn, and step-Son Michael Kohn. Honored Grandmother to Sofia DiChristopher McBriarty, Matthew, Kate, Sam, Joey, Dani Kohn; Ethan Kohn; and Grace, Olivia, Parker and Lauren Slapcynski. She is further survived by brothers Joseph Kotowski (Wendy) and Thomas (Linda) Kotowski, nephew Thomas (Jeanie) Kotowski, family, friends and neighbors. Because of the pandemic, a private burial will be held with close family at Southern Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
