Louise Ellen Ludwig, known affectionately as Peaches to her friends and family, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on January 9, 2024, at the age of 93, in Franklin. Born on February 16, 1930, in Milwaukee, Louise was a beacon of kindness and warmth throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Louise spent her formative years in Milwaukee where she attended Riverside High School. She was an active and spirited young woman, showcasing her talents on the women's basketball team. She enjoyed her summers at Bradford Beach. After completing her education, Louise transitioned into the workforce, where she dedicated years of service at The telephone company. Her work ethic and personable nature made her a beloved colleague and friend.
In her personal life, Louise was the heart and soul of her family. She was married for 59 years to her dear husband, Fred "Fritz" Ludwig, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a loving home and raised three wonderful children: Susan (Kevin) Schlueter, Sandra (John) Kessenich, and William (Lisa) Ludwig. Louise took great joy in her role as a homemaker, filling her home with love, laughter.
Louise's commitment to her community was evident through her involvement as president of the Franklin Woman Homemakers' club, where she led with grace and a genuine desire to make a difference. She was a role model for many, exemplifying what it means to serve others with humility and dedication.
Her interests were as varied as they were numerous. Louise was an avid reader. She found solace and joy in gardening, and her green thumb was evident in the vibrant blooms that decorated her home and garden.
Among her entrepreneurial ventures, Louise ran an egg route, delivering fresh eggs from their chickens to neighbors and friends. This endeavor was more than just a business—it was a way of connecting with her community and sharing the bounty of her home with others.
In her quieter moments, Louise could often be found painting ceramics, a hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and artistry. Each piece she crafted was a testament to her meticulous nature and love for beauty in all its forms.
Those who knew Louise will remember her as the epitome of thoughtfulness, friendliness, and kindness. Her gentle spirit and compassionate demeanor were her trademarks, and they endeared her to all.
Louise's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Kevin (Deanna) Desotell, Kristin (Brian) Blasczyk, Brady Ludwig, Anika Ludwig, and Sarah (Cal) Wrobel. She took immense pride in their accomplishments and was a constant source of encouragement and support. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and happiness.
Louise Ellen Ludwig lived a life full of love, service, and joy. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to cross paths with her. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her to live life with kindness and a generous heart.
Private services will be held. Her final resting place will be at Arlington Cemetery.
