Louise M. Dassow, a cherished baker and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on July 14, 1945, in Medford, Wisconsin, to the late William and Louise (Fuchs) Miklautsch. Louise was known for her remarkable talent in the kitchen, especially her delectable pies, which brought joy and comfort to many.

Throughout her life, Louise poured her heart into everything she did, leaving an indelible mark on her family and friends. She shared a profound bond with her husband, Don, with whom she celebrated an incredible 60 years of marriage. Together, they exemplified a partnership filled with love and mutual respect, creating a nurturing home for their children.

Louise is survived by her two children, David (Cathy) and Dawn, who will forever treasure the memories of their mother's warmth, laughter, and culinary prowess. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Roxanne (Kory), Jacob (Tiffany), Madeline, Shannon (Chris), and Holly—who are all blessed to have known their grandmother's love and creativity. In addition to her grandchildren, Louise was a proud great-grandmother to Christopher, Emma, Emmett, Taelynn, and Emmelynn, she was a sister to Marge (Clarence) Kropp and Billie (Curt) Taylor, sister-in-law to Barb Miklautsch and Mimi Miklautsch as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members, each of whom carries forward her spirit in their own unique ways.

Louise was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and Pete Miklautsch, who surely welcomed her with open arms. Her kitchen will be remembered for the aroma of freshly baked pies and for being a gathering place filled with laughter and love.
