Louann M. Cooke
(Nee Zawicki) passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the age of 77 surrounded by her loved ones. Beloved wife of the late Harold Cooke, cherished mother of Kenneth (Jennifer) Dotzler, Debrah (Steve) Peterson, Karen (Eric) Henry. Loving grandmother to Zachary, Jacob, Abigail, Kaitlynn, Markie, and Rylan. Dear sister to Thomas (the late Janet) Zawicki, and Sharon (Wayne) VanRoosenbeek. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and godmother to Lanette Surdyk and Jeffrey Zawicki.
Louann was a long-time ICU nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI and retired as a nurse working at Waukesha County. Louann was a talented crocheter “fiber artist.” She loved to crochet and make beautiful afghans, hats, mittens, scarves, and other items that she loved to gift or donate to others. She was an avid Brewers fan and Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed playing board games, Uno, and loved challenging her grandchildren to a fun and competitive game. We will always remember her saying, “Uno and I’m out” and grabbing the miniature trophy that was always up for grabs whenever we all played together. She valued spending time with her children and grandchildren on holidays and special occasions. She always had homemade cookies in her cookie jar and many sweets for all to enjoy.
“A mother's love is always with her children. Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But her goodness, her caring, and her wisdom live on-like a legacy of love that will always be with you. May that love surround you now and bring you peace.” ~ Unknown
