Lorenzo Cortez

Cortez, Lorenzo Age 75, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, March 30, 2014. Married for 53 years to Judy Cortez, (Jeske). Proud dad to Ramona, (Mike Verburgt), Angela, (Tom Morris), and Lisa (Eric Rogowski). Loving grandpa to Robert, Mikey, Sam, Danny and Cassie. Also survived by three sisters, and 4 brothers and many nieces and nephews. Born in Delmita, TX on September 5, 1938. He spent most of his life in Michigan before joining the US Army in 1956. After 20 years in the Army including a tour of duty in Korea and two tours in Viet Nam, he retired in 1976. With his family in tow, he returned to Milwaukee and worked another 16 years before retiring again from C&H Distributors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and lots of camping and barbecuing. But most of all spending time with family and friends. He also loved his Country and was very patriotic. He was a member of the VFW, and American Legion. Lorenzo will be dearly missed by all. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with full military honors. Private interment will take place at Pinelawn Cemetery.
