Linda Woida, a cherished soul known for her boundless creativity and generous spirit, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, in her native Wisconsin, where she was born on August 8, 1950.
Graduating from Pulaski High School in 1969, Linda's zest for learning and helping others shone brightly throughout her life. She dedicated many years to Meadowview Elementary, where she worked as a student aide, touching the lives of countless children with her patience and kindness. Linda's diligent work ethic continued at the Milwaukee V.A., where her clerical skills and warm demeanor supported both veterans and her colleagues.
Linda's interests were as varied as they were passionate. An avid gardener, she found joy in the simple pleasure of nurturing plants and flowers, creating beauty that would brighten the world around her. In addition to her own gardening, she enjoyed passing along her knowledge and plants to fellow gardeners. Her artistic flair was also evident in her exceptional talent for making cakes for family special events such as weddings, showers and birthdays. Each cake was not just a dessert but a centerpiece that told a story.
Crafting was another of Linda's joys, and her handmade treasures are cherished keepsakes that continue to bring smiles to the faces of her family and friends. Her culinary skills were legendary; Linda was an amazing cook whose dishes were the heart of family gatherings.
But it wasn't just in the kitchen or garden where Linda's interests lay. She was a proud classic car owner and enthusiast, her 1964 Chevelle, affectionately known as "Pinky", a testament to her love for vintage charm and the roar of an engine. A proud member of the South Sider car club, Linda shared her passion with fellow enthusiasts, her car's gleaming presence a staple at local shows.
Linda's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughter, Melissa (Tim) Dettmann, The late Jason (Kattie Woida-Squires) and her grandchildren, Frances "Francie", Jason "J.J.", and Kaylie. She was a beloved sister to the late Melroy (the late Carole) Stolpa, Christine (the late Richard) Blaha, Anna Trudeau, and Patricia Orlowski. Though her husband, Frank, and son, Jason, preceded her in death, the love they shared continued. Linda also leaves behind her adored feline fur baby, Slinky, who was a source of joy and companionship.
Her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends will fondly remember Linda for the creative, interesting, and generous person she was. Her ability to make every occasion special, her thoughtful nature, and her knack for bringing people together will be deeply missed.
Linda's life was a journey of giving, loving, and creating. She leaves behind a legacy of beauty, from the gardens she tended to the lives she enriched. Her memory will be cherished, her stories retold, and her presence forever felt in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Linda Woida's spirit, like the gardens she loved so dearly, will continue to bloom in the legacy she leaves behind.
