Lillian Peronto

December 16, 1924 — September 28, 2017

Lillian Peronto, age 92, died peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at her Meadowmere West Allis apartment. She was born in Milwaukee to Walter and Stephania Shepard on December 16, 1924 and married Leroy Peronto in 1948. Lillian was a talented French horn player and lifelong Classical music lover. She and Lee were members of the Milwaukee Pops Orchestra, which would become the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. The couple enjoyed traveling, especially to warm weather destinations. Most recently, despite poor hearing and sight, Lillian shared her keen sense of humor with others and was a loyal football fan. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Judith (Edward) Buenzli; daughter-in-law Lisa Peronto; grandchildren Bryan (Jamie) Buenzli, Adrienne (Erin) Best, Danielle (Fred) Ramos, James Peronto (Dustin McCoy) and Amanda and Trevor Wysocki. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Rowan Siekierzynski, Scarlet Ramos and Lily Best. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy, son Jeffrey and sister Dorothy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 3160 S. 63rd Street in Milwaukee on Thursday, October 5th at 11am; interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation will be held before the service from 10 to 11am. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Meadowmere West Allis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
