Burback, Leona Mary Of Milwaukee. Age 94. aka GiGi, Auntie Nonie, Grandma Upstairs. Went to be with the Lord February 24th in Wilmington, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Herman Burback.Beloved mother of Herman "Butch" (Mary) Burback. Beloved grandmother of Dawn (David) Weimar, Shawn (Pamela) Burback and Shannon (Michael) Hall. Beloved great-grandmother of Krista (Andrew) Townsend, Ehlana, Celina and Kylie Burback, Jessica, Laurel and Mariah Weimar. She was preceded in death by siblings Edward (Violet) Pawelski, William (Jenny) Pawelski, Evelyn (William) Scholler, Helen (Kashmir) Tetzlaff, Alice (Walter) Griep, Dorothy (Clarence) Zastrow and Irene (Cornelius) Stremphkowski. Special aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Beloved GiGi to the Moechers; Wendy (John), Connor and Logan and Laurie Doleschy. Special thanks to loving caregivers Kathy and those at Cambridge House and Trinity Grove (Wilmington, NC). Visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday March 16 from 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 17 at the Basilica of St. Josaphat, 2333 S. 6th St., at 10:30am. Entombment at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Gigi was grateful for the Salvation Army Summer Camps that she enjoyed as a child because of another's generosity.
