Leon G. Janicki

Janicki, Leon G. Went up to the spirit in the sky on August 15, 2011 at the age of 71 years. Dear husband of Yvonne (Nee Dereszynski) for 46 years. Proud father of Jeff (Bette) Janicki, Stacy (Jody Wheeler) and Cheryl (Robert Holloway). Brother of Stephen M. (Katherine) Janicki. Further survived by brothers-in-laws Ken (Patricia) Deres and Richard (Shirley) Dereszynski, Nieces Sharon (Jack) Herbes, Linda (Jim) Bradle and Laurie (Keith) Cooper and extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Marie (Bonikowski) and Stephen J. Janicki. Leon was employed by Universal Foods/Red Star Yeast/Lesaffre for over 30 years and was also employed by A&P for over 20 years. He was also a longtime member of Excelsior Social Club. Leon enjoyed socializing, playing poker, rooting for the Brewers and Packers, and reading out on his backyard patio. In his younger years, Leon was a trophy-winning bowler and an excellent marksman. He has passed on to his children his love of gardening and bird feeding. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen M. Janicki, Jeff Janicki, Stacy Janicki, Ken Deres, Harry Wroblewski, Joseph Ramuta, Robert Holloway and Carmelo Carini. Visitation will be at the Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday August 18, from 4-8 PM and thereafter on Friday August 19 from 9 - 9:45 AM at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CHURCH (8500 W. Coldspring Rd. Greenfield) with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 AM. Private Interment.
