He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Larry is preceded in death by his parents Joan and Lloyd Anderson. Larry was born in Dodgeville, WI on May 19, 1951. As a young boy be spent a great deal of time on his maternal grandparent’s farm where he grew to love and respect the rural landscape along with all of its wildlife. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1970 achieving the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged in 1976. Upon completion of an associate degree at Madison Area Technical College he worked in the civil engineering field for 40 years. Since 2005 he had been employed as a Quality Assurance Inspector with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. Working at the district allowed Larry to combine his engineering talents along with his lifelong passion of protecting our precious planet. Larry enjoyed being a dad and particularly enjoyed attending his sons countless sports activities especially their football games. Go Hawks! He was an avid Packer and Badger fan. Continuing his love of the environment and the outdoors he enjoyed gardening, namely landscaping his backyard with native plants and shrubs. Camping was a favorite pastime with Blue Mound State Park being one of his favorite locations. Last summer he treated his grandchildren to their first camping trip to Blue Mound. His sons would like to thank their mother, Beth, for the love and support she devoted to Larry during his illness. Both supported each other throughout many situations each encountered in life, this being no exception. The bond they shared was something that each truly cherished. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Max Sass Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29th from 4 PM until time of service at 6:30 PM. The family would like to honor Larry's love for nature by requesting contributions towards a memorial at Whitnall Park.
