Laverne Lucille Schwacher

December 13, 1928 — January 23, 2007

Schwacher, LaVerne L. Passed away on January 23, 2007, at the age of 78 years after a long battle with various illnesses and conditions following a brain aneurysm in 1998. LaVerne, a Wisconsin native, received intensive hospital rehabilitation at the Medical College of Wisconsin and subsequently moved to California in 2000, where she received continuing treatment. Prior to her illness, LaVerne had helped to care for aging members of the family and was an enthusiastic participant in the Woman's Health Initiative study-a result of her strong desire to ensure that future generations of women would have healthier lives. LaVerne was a secretary for most of her life, working at Briggs & Stratton after high school, and retired from the Wisconsin Electric Power Company after many years of service. LaVerne is the loving mother of Debra (John) Vogler and Nancy (Chad) Browne. Beloved sister of Donald Przybylka. Dear niece of Lorraine and Rosemarie. Dear aunt of Kathy. LaVerne was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard. Funeral Mass Monday 11:30 AM at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3222 S. 29th Street. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation Monday 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the church. Please meet directly at the church on Monday for visitation and mass.
