Laura J. Walaz

Walaz, Laura J. (Formerly Laura J. Gieryn) Of Whitewater, Died peacefully December 30, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Robert Walaz. Loving mother of the late Danuta (John) Naber, Roman (Iona) Gieryn, the late Halina Gieryn, Alexandra (Alexander) Suto, Stefan (Jennifer) Gieryn, and Samuel Gieryn. Further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laura was a Polish mayors daughter, survived a Nazi work camp in Germany, raised 6 very independent children in a new country and made better homemade pierogi than anyone on this side of the Atlantic. A private prayer service for the family will be held at St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
