Kevin G. Waterstraat, born on July 25, 1962, in the vibrant city of Milwaukee, illuminated the lives of those around him with kindness and warmth until his passing on November 30, 2024. A graduate of Oak Creek High School, Kevin carried an infectious spirit that welcomed all who crossed his path. His big heart and generous nature often had him metaphorically ready to give the shirt off his back, always making others feel at ease.
For many years, Kevin dedicated his working life to Hydro Thermo, where he forged friendships and built a reputation for his hard work and dedication. Beyond his career, he was an avid woodworker, pouring his creativity into designing special pieces that remain cherished by those who were fortunate enough to receive them. Kevin’s passions extended into the great outdoors; he found joy in hunting and fishing, and many evenings were spent engaged in spirited games of cards, always surrounded by laughter and good company.
Kevin's love for animals was evident in the way he cherished his dogs and all creatures great and small. His home was not just a shelter but rather a sanctuary filled with life and love, reflecting his deep connection to the natural world.
Among his many proud accomplishments, Kevin held dear his twenty-year marriage to Rhonda, the love of his life. Together, they navigated life's intricacies with a companionship that was palpable to everyone around them. They shared laughter, adventures, and a love that inspired those fortunate enough to witness it.
Kevin leaves behind a loving family that includes his brothers, Roy Waterstraat and Brian Waterstraat, along with their respective partners Christine and Patsy. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Junerose Conlin and Maryjo McRae (James), as well as a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends whose lives he touched throughout his journey.
While the world feels a little less bright without him, Kevin's memory will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He is profoundly missed, joining his beloved parents, Gloria and LeRoy, as well as his brother Bruce and nephew Jerimie in eternal rest, where the love and laughter he embodied can thrive once more. Kevin G. Waterstraat will always be remembered as an emblem of kindness, an artist of wood and life, and a true friend to many.
