Degnan, Kenneth Francis Entered into eternal life on June 15, 2018 at the age of 91. Ken was born in Terryville, Connecticut on September 2, 1926 to the late Emma and James Degnan and was one of 6 children. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Hintz) Degnan. Dear father of the late Colleen (Jan) Gengler, Kathleen (Donald) Wiseman and James (Dawn) Degnan. Grandfather of Kelly (Nate) Krey, Bethany (Brett) Creasman, Jeffrey (Holly) Kowalski, David (Laura) Gengler, Ryan Kuss and James Degnan. Great-grandfather of Aiden, Madyson, Brynn, Autumn, Chase, Arizona, Beckett, Jackson, Brody and Aubrey. Further survived by his Brother, Richard (the late Ann) Degnan, in-laws, Loretta Wisniewski and Kenneth Rehfeldt, plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, along with his brothers Michael and James, sisters Bernadine and Shirley. Ken graduated in 1944 from Terryville High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force and was a proud veteran of World War II. In 1959, he came to Milwaukee, where he attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and met his wife of almost 60 years, Mary. He was Vice-President of Hamilton Hall Resister Corporation from 1953-1991. He then worked at Price's and Capitol collectibles until he finally retired at the age of 84. In his free time, Ken was in the Knights of Columbus and was Grand Knight in 1965. He also ushered at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church from 1960-2016 and sang in the Festival City Chorus from 1985-2010 and could be heard singing with the Barbershop Quartet, "Old Gold:. He was honored to participate in the Veteran's Honor Flight with his Guardian, and dear friend, Nancy Brown in October of 2011. Ken enjoyed playing cards, watching all kinds of sports, especially football, baseball and basketball, traveling, singing, hanging out at the Steakout Restaurant, where everyone knew his name, spending time with friends and family. Special thanks to St. Camillus Hospice (especially Cindy and Sr. Winnie) and St. Camillus Resource Nurse, Anne, all the home care providers from Home Instead (Especially Sasha, Tracy, and Kevin) and to all the friends at Sacred Heart Monastery Lakes Apartment who made his final years happy. A visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Church (6060 W. Loomis Rd. Greendale, WI) on Thursday June 21st from 9:30 - 11:15 AM with the funeral mass at 11:30 AM. Private interment Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Honor Flight would be appreciated.
