Kenneth E. Kovac
Kenneth E. Kovac, age 82, formerly of Cudahy, passed away at Hales Corners Care Center on Monday, July 15, 2024 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He is survived by his two daughters Beth Ann (Ken) Lovesee and Carolyn (Matthew) Hagie as well as four grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Ken was born in Milwaukee on December 1, 1941 to Bessie (nee Medla) and Fred Kovac. Ken grew up and lived in Cudahy almost his entire life until his health dictated a move to assisted living.
Ken graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 1964. He was a longtime Milwaukee County Employee working at The House of Correction, The Children’s Home (Superintendent) and as a social worker.
He was very proud of his Slovak heritage and was a member of the Wisconsin Slovak Historical Society for many years. Ken loved sharing his family’s history with others and attending activities associated with his heritage. He also liked going to the Kelly Senior Center in Cudahy where he enjoyed sharing meals with friends, playing games and socializing. He also loved attending Milwaukee Brewers games with dear friends.
The family would like to sincerely thank the people who cared for Ken at Hales Corners Care Center, especially those who were there with him during the last moments of his life. Your genuine care and compassion for Ken are deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 29, 2024 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4850 South Lake Drive in Cudahy, WI 53110 from 10:00 - 11:15 followed by the Funeral Service. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s memory to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Slovak Historical Society or SOA - Kelly Senior Center.
