Kelly M. Peters

April 27, 1973 — March 22, 2024

Kelly Peters, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at the age of 50. Born on April 27, 1973, in Louisville, KY, Kelly grew up to touch the lives of all who knew her with her kindness and enduring spirit.

Kelly is survived by her loving husband Jim of 25 years, who stood by her side in both joy and sorrow, along with her four beautiful children, Morgan, Madison, Meredith, and Mason. Her devoted mother and father, Donna and Earl Weller, instilled in her the values of compassion and generosity which together formed the core of her world. Her brother Paul Weller, along with the many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, can all attest to the unwavering dedication she had to her family.

Kelly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University where she played softball. She later went on to receive her Master’s degree from MSOE and embarked on a career in health and safety that reflected her passion to help people.

Kelly's best joy in life was spending time with her family and being a mother. Her love of softball led her to coach her daughters’ softball teams for many years. Kelly relished in the simple pleasures of life. She thoroughly enjoyed watching as many of her kids' activities as possible. If there were conflicts, she’d figure out some way to attend them all. There was nothing she loved more than caring for her children.

She was such a compassionate and giving person and always put others first. Even during her battle with cancer, she did not want to be a burden.

As we bid farewell to Kelly, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. Her journey was one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to others. While we mourn her loss, we also rejoice in having known such a remarkable soul, whose light will continue to shine in the memories of those who loved her. Kelly will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will remain with us always.
