Kayla Michelle Runte

Runte, Kayla "KK" Peacefully called to heaven, surrounded by family and friends, on August 13, 2012 at the age of 8. Beloved daughter of John and Michelle Runte. Much loved sister of Brooklyn Runte. Cherished granddaughter of Carl and Darlene Brown and Tom and Chris Runte and great granddaughter of Arlene Brown and Dorothy Luce. Also, fondly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends, whose lives she touched in a very special way. KK was a truly blessed child who communicated her feelings and love of her family, friends, wonderful medical providers and teachers without words, but by opening her heart to all of them. She received their love and respect in return. Kayla loved spending time with her sister, Brooklyn and her many friends from school on play dates, as well as Girl Scouts, her dog Lexi, Nature (especially her signature butterflies), music and art. In her short life, Kayla touched the hearts of many and will never be forgotten. Special thanks to all of KK's Doctors, especially Doctors Kamsler, Moyer and McCord, her nurses, teachers and staff from Ben Franklin Elementary School and Penfield Children's Center and other providers for their kind and compassionate care. Also, we are very grateful to all of the people who supported KK as part of "Kayla's Krew" in Joe's annual Walk, Run and Roll for Cerebral Palsy. Visitation will be at Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M., with a special children's service at 5:00 and an adult service at 5:30 P.M. and at St. Mary Faith Community (9520 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners) on Monday, August 20, 2012, with visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. with the mass to follow at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings to Ben Franklin Elementary School, 7620 S. 83rd St., Franklin, WI 53132 appreciated.
