Kathryn Ann Teisl, affectionately known as Kate, passed away peacefully of natural causes on April 2, 2024, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Born on June 29, 1950, in Wisconsin to the late Joan and William Zickert, Kate lived a life marked by love, generosity, and a dedication to her family.
Kate graduated from Muskego High School in 1968 and soon after embraced her role as a domestic engineer, a title she held with pride. Her heart and home were always open, and she became the cornerstone of her family. Kate's marriage to Steve Teisl spanned over five decades, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised their children, Niki and husband Rob Kazmierczak, and Joel and wife Trisha Teisl, instilling in them values of kindness and compassion.
Kate was the proud grandmother of Jake, Sam, Caleb, and Isaac. Her joy was evident in every moment spent with them, and her legacy will continue to live on through their memories and stories. She is also survived by her brother Tom and his wife Colleen Zickert, as well as brother-in-law Doug and his wife Marge Teisl. Kate was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her in-laws, Tony and Betty Teisl.
Kate's life was a tapestry of simple pleasures and meaningful traditions. She had a passion for playing dominos, a game that often-brought laughter and spirited competition to the "hen house". Family vacations were not just trips but cherished adventures that created lifelong memories. Kate was a fixture at her boys' baseball games, cheering them on with unwavering support and pride.
A lover of nature's beauty, Kate found joy in tending to her flowers, each bloom a reflection of her care and attention. Her adventurous spirit was mirrored in the numerous road trips she embarked on, always eager to explore new places and experience the world with her loved ones.
In the kitchen, Kate was an artist, and her love for cooking was an expression of her love for her family and friends. She was always experimenting with new recipes, delighting in the pleasure it brought to those she cooked for. Her meals were more than just nourishment; they were a gathering of hearts around the table.
Selfless, loving, and generous – these words capture the essence of Kate. She lived for others, always placing the needs of her family and friends above her own. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Kate's presence was a gift to those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt. Yet, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her love and kindness. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated, a reminder of the beauty and grace she brought into the world.
