Kassandra Kokalis
(Nee Gountis). Kassandra was born on August 15, 1928. She was born to Eternal Life on December 22, 2022 at the age of 94 surrounded by family. Beloved and devoted wife of Elias for 66 years. Kassandra immigrated from Epiros, Greece through Ellis Island in 1959 with her husband and son Kosta. She was an avid reader, fabulous cook, incredible seamstress, intelligent, wise, and witty woman. She enjoyed gardening, conversing politics, and spending time outdoors. Her family was very important to her as she was known as the matriarch.
Preceded in death by her husband Elias and her brothers Christos and Manthos. Survived by her siblings Vaso, Eleni, and Panagiotis. Loving mother of Kosta (Natasha) and Elizabeth “Liz”. Cherished Yiayia of Kassandra, Eliana, Amalia, and Leonidas. Great Yiayia of Hunter and Rhyder. Further survived by nieces and nephews here and in Greece, her former son-in-law, and her granddog Arlo.
Kassandra said in her final hours that her husband was waiting for her. He was a very impatient man who probably told her, “Hurry up honey, whats taking you so long”.
“Dada” was our rock. She will be missed every day. May her memory be Eternal.
