Karl Ruszczynski

April 3, 1933 — April 15, 2023

Karl H. Ruszczynski, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2023, in Milwaukee, WI, at the age of 90. Born on April 3, 1933, in South Milwaukee, WI, Karl was a friendly and thoughtful man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.


Karl is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Sally, and their children: Vicki (Erik) Riedel, Sue (Tillman) Adkins, June Marie, John (Lorie) Ruszczynski, and Mark (Julie) Ruszczynski. He was a proud grandfather to Ben, Jacob, Matthew (Melissa), Daniel (Jody), Sam, Racheal (Andy), Nicole (Brandon), and Luke (fiancée Taylor), and a doting great-grandfather to Victoria, Henry, Taylor, Lilly, Vanessa, Beckham, Killian, Brooklyn, Lydia, Mabel, Isaiah, and Micah.


Karl served his country as an army veteran before embarking on a successful career as a machinist at Bucyrus Erie. His dedication to his work was evident in the precision and care with which he approached each task. He started his career as an apprentice and his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft earned him greater titles and the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers. Being a master at his craft Karl traveled the globe to troubleshoot and train how to operate the equipment.


In his free time , Karl enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. His adventures took him to numerous destinations, both near and far, creating a lifetime of cherished memories. He managed to visit every continent with the exception of Antarctica. Karl's friendly nature and warm smile made it easy for him to make friends wherever he went, and he was always eager to share his experiences and stories with others.


As a loving husband, Karl was devoted to his wife, Sally, and their partnership was a true testament to the power of love and commitment. Together, they built a strong, supportive family and instilled in their children the importance of kindness, generosity, and compassion. Karl's love for his family was unwavering, and he took great joy in watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and flourish.


Karl's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Henry Ruszczynski, sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine (Bob) Holmes, great-grandchild, Adam and good friend and cousin, Bernie Sopinski.


Memorial visitation will be held at Divine Mercy Parish (800 Marquette Ave, South Milwaukee, WI 53172). Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow at Holy Sepulcher cemetery with military honors.


In lieu of flowers, Karl requested that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
