Weitkunat, Karl Otto "Karl-O" Born September 15, 1935 and went fishing January 5, 2010. Age 74. Husband for 49 years, 361days to the catch of his life Ardith (nee Simonson) proud father of Steven (Julie) Weitkunat and Linda (Dave) Gulgowski. Grandfather to his "Keepers" Holly (Jose) Pagan, Janelle Weitkunat, Stephanie Weitkunat and Peter Gulgowski. Great Grandpa to Sebastian and Maia. Karl was an avid fisherman and was the proud recipient of the much-coveted "Mr. Walleye" award furiously fought after between him and his son on their bi-annual fishing trips. Karl served his country in the United States Army where he was a tank commander with the Combat Wombats. He was a life long employee of Kearney and Trecker/Giddings and Lewis until his retirement. After retirement he was kept extremely busy by friends and neighbors doing handyman projects and creating beautiful objects made out of wood. A rabid Packer fan, who actually gave up his season tickets to the Milwaukee games, when Coach Lombardi quit. A fact that his children have yet to forgive him for. Karl is preceded in death by his parents Fritz and Olga Weitkunat, Brothers Alfred (Eleanor) Weitkunat, Robert (Natalie) Weitkunat, and Edward (Janice) Weitkunat.
