Karen Jaskie (nee Kraucunas) - Born to eternal life on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at age 65. Beloved wife of John Jaskie for over forty years. Loving mother of Sarah Jaskie Sparks, Dave (Jessica), Andy (Natalie), Dan (Julia) and Matt. Proud grandmother of Adelyn, Nolan, Charlotte, Brinley, Harrison, Liam, Cole and Connor. Preceded in death by her parents Marian and Julius Kraucunas, and her sister-in-law Janice Miller. She is also survived by her siblings Monty “Joe” (Lupe) Kraucunas, Ken (Tani) Kraucunas, Ray (Terry) Kraucunas and Theresa Kraucunas, and in-laws Rich (Sheila) Jaskie and Jerry Miller, and many other relatives and friends. Karen was an incredible wife and mother to her five beloved children. She supported them in everything they did, and as they grew, she cherished the lives that her children and their growing families built. One of her favorite pastimes was sharing the memories and experiences that they were creating - no matter how far from home they ended up. Karen loved kids and was an active volunteer with St. Rita’s Parish as a Pre-K religious education teacher. She led St. Rita’s craft fair, volunteered in the school lunchroom, on the playground and as an active Cub Scout leader. She always loved to share her crafting talents with students, and made origami birds with each and every student she worked with. She was also a dedicated volunteer for over a decade with Blessed Sacrament’s St. Vincent DePaul Society. Throughout her life, Karen always put others first and worked as an Occupational Therapist at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee for many years. She lovingly served as the primary caregiver for her mother, mother-in-law and Uncle Tony at the end of their lives. Her grandchildren, who had a special place in her heart, will cherish their time spent with her creating books, inventing games, making crafts and trying out homemade teas. She will continue to live on through her daughter, sons, their spouses, and her grandchildren for generations to come. Throughout her life, Karen put her faith in God, and stayed positive until the end. Our family will always remember her for her big heart, humility, creativity, and dedication to others. While her passing leaves us with a hole we can never fill, we will always cherish the memories we created together. The family also would like to acknowledge Karen’s hospice care team,, especially Sheyla and Samatha, who took such wonderful care of both Karen and our entire family. A special thanks also to Sister Tess of Blessed Sacrament and Katie Ebel for their spiritual support. A visitation will be held at Max A. Sass Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm (4747 S. 60th Street, Greenfield, WI 53220). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 2nd at 11:00am at Blessed Sacrament Parish (3100 S 41st St, Milwaukee, WI 53215) with a visitation preceding from 10:00am to 10:45 am. A graveside service will follow at St. Adalbert's Cemetery (3801 S 6th St, Milwaukee, WI 53221). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice or one of the following that was close to Karen’s heart: Smile Train, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls or The Blessed Sacrament Saint Vincent DePaul Society.
