Karen Jean Lenski, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at the age of 66, in her hometown of Milwaukee, WI, where she was also born on January 31, 1957, to the late George and Barbara Marcinkiewicz. Karen's life was a testament to the power of care and devotion, qualities that she embodied every day of her life.
Karen's journey began in Milwaukee, where she grew up surrounded by a family that would be forever touched by her generosity and warmth. After graduating from high school, she embarked on a career that would span over two decades with Fed-Ex, where she was known as a dedicated Supervisor.
Her love for her family knew no bounds. She is survived by her adoring daughter, Liz, and her cherished grandchildren, Alexander and Dominick, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Her brother Randy will remember her as the glue that held the family together through thick and thin. Her sister Anna, nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Tanya, Tony, and Traci, were beneficiaries of her endless support and affection. Karen's loyal dog, BJ, was a constant companion and source of comfort. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Winnie, with whom she shared many treasured memories.
Karen's garden was a vibrant tapestry of colors, reflecting her love for nature and her talent for nurturing growth in all its forms. Yard work was not a chore for Karen but an opportunity to create beauty and order in her little corner of the world. She collected angels, perhaps drawn to their symbolism of guidance and protection. Karen's love for games, whether it was a lively session of bingo or the slots on Facebook, showed her playful spirit and her enjoyment of a good challenge. Her evenings were often spent with the characters of her favorite Netflix shows, a pastime that allowed her moments of relaxation and escape.
Above all, Karen cherished the time she spent with her family. Each moment was an opportunity to express her love, share her wisdom, and create lasting memories with those she held dear. Her presence at her brother’s home will be deeply missed, yet her influence will continue to be felt in every story retold and every tradition upheld. Those who knew Karen would describe her as loving, kind, and thoughtful. She approached life with a heart full of compassion, always ready to listen and offer a word of encouragement. Her legacy is one of love and selflessness, traits that inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Karen Jean Lenski, we celebrate the remarkable life she led and the countless ways she enriched our lives. She will be forever remembered on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the MAX A. SASS & Sons Funeral Home (1515 W Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee) from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 PM service.
