On February 10, 2024, at the age of 78, Judy C. Dreist (nee Bink) was born into eternal life. Judy passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Judy was born on February 1, 1946 in Wisconsin to Harry and Catherine Bink. She was the youngest of eight kids. She is preceded in eternal life by her parents, four sisters (Sally, Roe, Betty and Catherine) and her brothers (David and Harry) and survived by her brother Jerome (MaryAnne) Bink.
Judy met her husband George Dreist in 1964 while attending a Catholic Youth People's Club event. The two married in 1966 and they were blessed with three faithful children: John (Lynn) Dreist, Paula Dreist-Spannbauer and Jill Dreist-Dombrowski. Judy was also the loving grandmother to Brittany Spannbauer, Erin (Noah) Martinez, David Dreist, Jackson Dombrowski and Jonathan Dreist. Judy's role as a mother and grandmother was one she held dear. She looked forward to hosting Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July and birthday parties for the family and loved having her family with her. The memories she created will be forever cherished.
As a devout Catholic, Judy found solace and strength in her faith. She was a member of St Thomas Aquinas Church, where she was an active volunteer. Judy's banana cream pies were legendary at the church fish fry's and other church events. Her baking skills will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Judy also dedicated time to St Joe's in Big Bend making desserts and working the concessions on their bingo nights. Before that, Judy was a dedicated parishioner and volunteer at St Matthias where she helped run the concessions during sporting events and the parish festival.
Judy's commitment to her community was evident through her dedicated service as a board member for her condo association. Her involvement was not just a duty but a passion. Judy created many friendships as she worked to ensure the well-being of her neighbors and the beauty of their shared environment.
Judy's legacy is one of compassion, service and unwavering commitment to her family and faith. As we say goodbye to Judy Dreist, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will continue to shine brightly in the memories of those she loved. Her spirit will live on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the love of her children and the enduring partnership she shared with her husband for 58 years.
Judy's life was a journey of love, faith and kindness. Her presence will be felt for generations to come. Judy will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. We take solace in knowing that Judy is now at peace and her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
