Judith Marie Talaska, a devoted stay-at-home mom, was born on September 14, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She peacefully passed away on January 3, 2025, in West Allis, Wisconsin, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Judy's nurturing spirit shone brightly throughout her life as she dedicated herself to raising her six daughters: Sharon (Mike) Sedlmeier, Karen (Glen) Christopherson, Carol (Mike) Varsos, Cheryl (Tim) Barnes, Cathy (Glen Fischer) Talaska, and Jayme (Russ) Fenstermaker. Her unwavering support and boundless affection extended to her grandchildren: Chuck (Becky), Kyle (Erin), T.J. (Becky), Cassie (Shawn), John (Andrea), Sammi (Tyler), Emily (Clay), and Jake. Judy also embraced the role of great-grandmother with joy, leaving a warm imprint on the lives of Kya, Ethan, Mikenzy, Andrew, Dayton, Owen, Camden, and Jordan. She is also remembered by her siblings: Dolores (the late Bob), the late Berna (the late Mike), the late Joe (the late Marilyn), and the late Ronald.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim, and her parents, Emily and Joseph Perszewski.
Judy’s heart belonged to the serene beauty and lifestyle of “Up North.” It was there, that she showed her family how to sit back, relax, and enjoy life. The family will always hold in their hearts, just as she always held in hers, the visits to the trailer in Elcho and the sights and sounds of her grandchildren throwing a ball and laughing together at Rolling Stone Lake.
Judy was always up for a game of cribbage or poker and routinely found a way to leave the table with everyone’s money at the end of the night. She had an infectious smile, loved to laugh, and shared a quick wit that kept you on your toes, even in her last days. Either stubborn or consistent, Judy’s preferences were clear: she wanted to spend Christmas surrounded by family, she wanted her hair impeccably permed, and she deeply cherished her weekly dinners and visits with her daughters.
Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those she touched, but her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Judith Marie Talaska will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
“Goodnight Mom, may you and Dad enjoy each other’s company once again.” – Love, Sharon, Karen, Carol, Cheryl, Cathy, and Jayme
