Hess, Judith C. "Judy" Passed away May 31, 2018 at the age of 76 years. Judy grew up on the south side of Milwaukee and attended South Division High School and Spencerian Business College. Judy was a legal secretary and worked as a secretary to the camp director of summer Camp Manitowish before employment with Milwaukee County, where she worked in the Family Court Commissioner's Office and then as Committee Clerk for the County Board. She was active in REMCO (Retired Employee's of Milwaukee County). Past activities included photographer for the Milwaukee Admirals, active member of Wisconsin Riders & Exhibitors, and Show Secretary of the Milwaukee Spring Horse Show. She sang in youth and senior choirs of the Ascension Lutheran Church (ELCA) and played in its handbell choir. After retirement Judy was very active in the African Violet Society of America, serving as President or in other capacities in the Milwaukee African Violet Society, Crosstown African Violet Club, Oshkosh Violet Society and the Wisconsin Council of African Violet Clubs. She was an accredited adjudicator for AVSA shows. Beloved sister of Susan Hess and Nancy (Darrell) Tarnow, loving aunt of Debbie Tarnow and Danielle (Mark) Wihowski, and great aunt of Chadwick Tarnow. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Funeral service Thursday, June 14, at 7:00PM at Ascension Lutheran Church. 1236 S. Layton Blvd. (S. 27th St.) Milwaukee. Visitation on Thursday from 4:00PM until time of service at the church. Interment Friday, 10:00AM at Highland Memorial Park. Memorials to Ascension Organ Fund or the Wisconsin Humane Society appreciated.
